Positivity and Relaxation Training (PART) Workshops

  • What is PART?

As a Certified PART Program Instructor, through the Benson-Henry Mindbody Institute at Mass General Hospital, I introduce the concept of the relaxation response as an antidote to the stress response. Through interactive examples, I discuss sources of stress and how we respond as a backdrop to describe various techniques and practices for developing more adaptive responses in the moment.

  • Building Strategies

During the workshop I offer various strategies for managing stress drawing on practices from positive psychology, cognitive behavior therapy, and mindfulness on a foundation of other lifestyle behaviors such as sleep, exercise, nutrition, connection. Each workshop focuses on a different set of strategies to help participants learn new ways to respond to stress that are more adaptive.

  • Objectives

The overall objective of the workshops is that participants become more mindful of their own responses to stress, learn how to elicit the relaxation response so they can respond in more adaptive ways, build resilience, develop new lifestyle habits and gain control of their own well being.
