Wellbeing and Resilience Workshop Options

Each of the sessions covers a topic related to understanding wellbeing and resilience and tools to help you increase your wellbeing and resilience.  You will learn about how the mind’s default mode can work against your wellbeing and some practical tools to help you re-train the mind to work for you.  The sessions are designed to provide useful tips and practices that can be implemented right away.  Each session will also include mini-meditations, mindfulness practices, and/or seated gentle yoga and breathing practices that can be done anytime during the day. 

Build Your Foundation

We often set big goals for our wellbeing practices and find ourselves at a loss of where to begin.  This session will focus on gaining awareness of what matters most to you to improve and offer tools to help you define the actions that will get you to success.  Just knowing what you want is not enough to make a difference.  You need tools to drive action and a framework to help you monitor your progress.  

Mind Over Matter

The mind plays tricks on us that have become habitual ways of thinking and being.  Some of these are necessary and protective, but some are not.  In this session I will share information about how the mind can be a foe or an ally when it comes to our own wellbeing and resilience.  You will learn about some of the default response mechanisms and how to “rewire” the mind to foster more adaptive responses.     

Achieving Wellbeing Goals and Building Resilience

Creating new habits to achieve your wellbeing goals and build resilience takes consistent action often pushing your comfort zone.  In this session I will provide several tools to help you overcome what often gets in the way of success.  You will learn and practice strategies to calm the mind, manage emotions, and how to be more mindfully aware so you can respond to stressful situations with grace and ease. 

What is the Mind Body Connection

Learn the history and evolution of the science behind the recognition of the mind-body connection and how it relates to modern day life and developing resilience.  Understand the mechanisms within your body that operate to produce stress and its opposite, relaxation and why both are important. 

What is Mindfulness

Learn how to use mindfulness beyond meditation practices.  Understand what mindfulness is, what it means, how to practice it and why it matters.  

How to Apply the Knowledge 

Learn how to harmonize your own mind-body connection and discover how you can find more peace, ease, and equanimity even under duress. 

Unleashing your Creativity

Research tells us that by engaging in creative activities, either by observation or directly, impacts our moods and emotions, and thereby improves our general state of wellbeing. Many of us are not aware of our creativity or how to express it. This workshop is an expanded version of one of the modules taught as part of the PART Program. In this workshop you will learn how creativity is related to well being and resilience and engage in evidence based activities from positive psychology, cognitive behavior theory, mindfulness and design thinking. These practices are intended to expand your definition of what it means to be creative and help you bring more awareness to your own creative energy and expression.
